      Use

      ●  Sodium isethionate is an organic salt and an important intermediate in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and daily chemicals. The synthesis principle is that sodium bisulfite and ethylene oxide undergo a condensation reaction to generate sodium isethionate.

      ●  Used as surfactant intermediate, daily chemical and pharmaceutical intermediate, etc.

      Production method

      ●  First, the fresh sodium bisulfite that has passed the analysis was added to the preparation kettle, and under the conditions of room temperature and normal pressure, a 35wt% aqueous solution was prepared with distilled water.
      The prepared sodium hydrogen sulfite solution 2857Kg (concentration 35wt%) was sent to the ethoxylation reactor, after nitrogen replacement and heating operation, ethylene oxide was added at 90 ° C to start the reaction, and the temperature was controlled at 90 to 100 ° C, Pressure 0 ~ 0.1MPag (gauge pressure). After adding 500Kg of ethylene oxide, it was aged at 90-100°C for 30 minutes, and then unloaded.
      The crude product (concentration 40-45wt%) synthesized in the previous step is sent to the double-effect continuous evaporation recrystallizer, and is operated in co-current, continuous feeding, and intermittent discharging, that is, the dilute solution is advanced in the first-effect evaporator. After concentration, the concentration reaches 55-60 wt%, the concentrated liquid enters the two-effect evaporator, is further concentrated and evaporated to 72-75 wt%, and then the concentrated liquid enters the continuous crystallizer, and after uniform cooling to 20-40 ℃ for crystallization, the crystal slurry enters The centrifuge is centrifuged, the solid enters the next process, and the mother liquor returns to the two-effect evaporator to continue to participate in evaporation and concentration. When the ethylene glycol content in the product reaches below 0.1%wt, it is considered qualified, and the product purity is greater than 99.5wt% through analysis and testing.
      For a small amount of non-crystallizable residual liquid, use 3 times the solvent for extraction, the extraction agent used is absolute ethanol, the sodium isethionate product is precipitated in absolute ethanol, and a small amount of water and organic impurities, such as ethylene glycol, Polyethylene glycol and isethionate will enter the liquid phase ethanol, and then enter the centrifuge for centrifugation. Finally, the crystals are dried in a disc dryer at 120 ° C to remove a small amount of residual solvent impurities in the product. and moisture. The used extractant, ethanol, is recycled and reused. The extractant ethanol can be recovered by distillation.
