Other Names: BAC-B, Alkyldimethylbenzylammonium Bromide
Benzalkonium bromide (BAC-B) is a cationic surfactant with excellent broad-spectrum bactericidal, antibacterial, anti-algae, and antiviral properties. Similar to benzalkonium chloride, it uses bromide as a counterion, resulting in stronger bactericidal activity and improved effectiveness against some chlorine-resistant bacteria.
This product is widely used in medical disinfection, skin cleansing, ophthalmic irrigants, antiseptics, industrial disinfection and preservation, and water treatment. Benzalkonium bromide is stable in weakly acidic to neutral conditions and exhibits low irritation to skin and mucous membranes.
