●  Heating p-toluidine and glacial acetic acid under reflux for 2 hours is converted into N-acetyl p-toluidine, cooled to 45°C, and bromine is added dropwise, and the bromination reaction is controlled at 50-55°C. The reactant was injected into an aqueous solution of sodium sulfite, and 3-bromo-4-acetamidotoluene was precipitated. Then it is hydrolyzed with concentrated hydrochloric acid, and the resulting hydrochloride reacts with sodium hydroxide solution to obtain free 2-bromo-4-methylaniline. Yield 51-57%.
