      Tartaric acid exists in three stereoisomers: litartaric acid, l-tartaric acid, and meso-tartaric acid. The optical activity of the mixture of equal amounts of D-isomer and L-isomer cancel each other out, which is called racemic tartaric acid. The meso body does not exist in nature and can be synthesized chemically. All tartaric acids are colorless crystals that are easily soluble in water.

      Use

      ●  Widely used in the food industry, such as beer foaming agent, food sour agent, flavoring agent, used in soft drinks, candies, juices, sauces, cold dishes, fermentation powder, etc.

      ●  Tartaric acid is widely used as an acidulant in beverages and other foods, in a similar use to citric acid. Tartaric acid is used in combination with tannins as a mordant for acid dyes, and is also used in some developing and fixing operations in the photographic industry. Its iron salts are photosensitizing, so they can be used to make blueprints. In the actual application field of tartaric acid, mainly use dextrotartaric acid or its double salt, tartar, a by-product of grape brewing, is the main raw material for the actual production of tartaric acid at present, and the tartaric acid produced is all dextrorotary.
