Chemical properties

Pure product is colorless orthorhombic crystals. The aqueous solution has a pungent salty taste. The industrial product is small white or slightly yellow crystals. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol.

Uses

1. Mainly used as fertilizer, suitable for various soils and crops

2. Used as analytical reagent, also used for protein precipitation

3. Used as welding flux, fabric fire retardant, etc.

4. Used as fertilizer, can also be used as welding flux, fabric fire retardant, as salting agent, osmotic pressure regulator, etc. in medicine

5. Used as raw material for the production of hydrogen peroxide, ammonium alum and ammonium chloride in the chemical industry, and as welding flux in the welding industry. Used as a fire retardant for fabrics in the textile industry. Used as an additive for electroplating baths in the electroplating industry. 7. Biological preparations, protein precipitation, chromatographic analysis reagents, urine tests, and preparation of culture media in haploid breeding. It is used as a salting agent in medicine, a catalyst for food coloring, and for the cultivation of yeast in fresh yeast production. It is also used as an auxiliary dye for acid dyes and a deliming agent for leather. It is used to produce hydrogen peroxide to make ammonium persulfate and for electroplating.

Production method

1. After neutralization of ammonium hydroxide and sulfuric acid, crystallization, centrifugal separation and drying are obtained.

2. Neutralization method Ammonia and sulfuric acid are neutralized at about 100°C, and the resulting ammonium sulfate crystal slurry is centrifuged and dried to obtain the finished ammonium sulfate product. Its 2NH3+H2SO4→(NH4)2SO4 recovery method recovers ammonia from coke oven gas and then neutralizes it with sulfuric acid to obtain it.
